A turn-over percussion rifle

Description: Two-stage shot barrel, octagonal then round after a girdle, in 17 mm calibre. Octagonal ball barrel with seven-groove rifled bore in 16 mm calibre with dovetailed brass front sight and adjustable rear sight. Top of the barrel signed "Joseph Hauer, Bamberg" (somewhat worn). The flintlock engraved with decorative rocaille designs. Carved full stock with a patch box (lid is probably old replacement). Bone and mother-of-pearl inlays on the cheek. En suite engraved brass furniture, the front part of the trigger guard as release lever to unlock the barrel pair. Wooden ramrod with horn tip. Bamberg, circa 1750, length 120 cm. Condition 2-
