A Cased Pair of Flintlock Box-Lock Pocket Pistols by John Twigg

Description: Round turn-off barrels with smooth bore in 13 mm calibre, London proof marks. Box lock with a centre cock and slide safety. Folding triggers and rain-proof pans. Bock locks are decorated with trophies of arms and signed "LONDON" and "TWIGG" on both sides. Walnut grips with fine checkering and silver escutcheons. London, circa 1780. Length of of each pistol 15 cm. In the original walnut case. The inside lined with green felt, original paper label "John Twigg - Gun Maker, Corner of Picadilly, Haymarket - London" glued to the inside of the lid. With a bullet mould. Dimensions of case 20,5 x 16 x 3,5 cm. John Fox Twigg, Gunmaker, London (1732-1792), condition 2
