Description: | Octagonal smoothbore barrel in 15 mm calibre with surface-mounted brass front sight, the double brass-lined maker´s mark at the breech. Slightly chiselled flintlock, lock plate marked "Ioseph Stöckl a Neustat". The carved walnut full stock with smooth brass mounts. Wooden ramrod with a horn tip. Austria circa 1750, length 110 cm. Joseph Steckel, Wiener Neustadt, recorded from 1730-70, barrel Johann Steckel - began his apprenticeship in 1708 in Vienna and worked in Wiener Neustadt latest from 1722 on. Condition 2+ |
